After a 3 hour flight delay in Chicago, we were still able to make our connecting flight in Madrid. Allowing us to Arrive in A Coruña mid afternoon. A Coruña is our starting point for the Camino Ingles, and we will begin walking tomorrow morning.

But first, we explored the old town of A Coruña. We were quite surprised at the size of it, defiantly not a little sleepy fishing village. It’s actually quite large and vibrant with lots of young families. Beautiful, wide open squares and pedestrian streets make it very welcoming.

Saturday night there are people of all ages walking along the seaside. Like a promenade. A great place to people watch. We explored the old fort and wandered meandering streets. Now to rest up for our start tomorrow. The Camino goes right by our hostel, very convenient.

There has been some confusion regarding Mr. Nesti and my walking for him. Mr Nesti is fine, actually great! First, I have a Compostela, and it isn’t uncommon for people to walk for others. I’ve chosen to walk for Mr. Nesti this trip as a tribute to him. He has been instrumental in forming my love of travel, the arts, architecture and culture, as he has for many of us. I have seen so much of the world with him and because of him, and so he is joining us on this trip. Thank you Mr Nesti!!

Until tomorrow
