Yesterday we took a bullet train from Barcelona to Madrid. Tracking at upwards of 200mph, it was a very smooth ride. But first, our last day in Barcelona was spent at the Miro Museum, funicular ride to a overview of the city and sea, and more wandering.
Cheryl and I slid into Sephora. Yes, an actual slide. Luckily she didn’t get a picture of me. But I caught her in action.
After arriving in Madrid. We did some more exploring. In all honesty, I imagined a dirty city, perhaps a little rough around the edges. But it is beautiful and clean.
The Cathedral is new. Concecrated in the 90’s but has a wonderful blend of old and new architectural details.
We also happened upon the changing of the guard. Always a treat.
And finished the day with a tour of the palace. Sadly, photos weren’t allowed. The king resides outside of the city due to security risks, and the palace is, I believe, 2,000 rooms, I can’t retain everything.
Today I have a special treat of meeting my sister-in-law’s son. But first a visit to the Prado. One of the world’sw finest art museums. And a flamenco show tonight should make for a fun day.
