We decided to go to the furthest south Louisiana you can go. Grand Isle was quite a drove along a coastal canal, and then an eight plus mile bridge. It seems to be the place to go during the hot summers, if you are from Louisiana. There are Mike’s of elevated homes and not much else…especially in the winter.

We spent the night and explored a couple of bars for fresh shrimp! Yumm!! Although the community has 1,500 inhabitants, it swells to 20,000 in the spring to fall. We are glad we saw it.
