Saturday, we quickley drove through Illinois. We figure w have driven most of the Great River Road in the state, and we were seeking warmer weather. So I’m considering Chester, Illinois, the beginning of our River/Blues Trip. Chester is located right on the Mississippi River and most importantly, hometown of Popeye!

It is a cute little town, and the hometown of some Morrison transplants, Mark and Deb Kaiser.  We then started following the GRR south, into Kentucky. Our first camping spot was a state park just inside the Kentucky border. A nice place right on the River. But pretty darn cold with a few inches of snow on the ground, and no one in sight. We cranked up the heater in the camper and were quite cozy. Interestingly, the bathrooms at the park were heated up nice and toasty. Must have known we were coming.

This morning we followed the Mississippi through Kentucky and Tennessee, and are now camped at the Graceland RV Park. Just steps away from Graceland. We are saving that for tomorrow. Today we ventured down to Beale Street for supper and a little live music.

Great place to be and the temperature was 48 degrees, it is climbing!!
