The last night of our trip was spent in Bennett Springs State Park near Lebanon, Missouri.  The campgrounds weren’t the most private, but with few campers, it wasn’t an issue.  The park’s big draw is fly fishing, and there were many fishermen out.  It happened to be the last day to fish for the season, so they were getting in the last few hours.  We went down to the “river” and the amount of rainbow trout in the water was astonishing.  I could have caught them with just a net.

The young man educated me on fly fishing, and even cleaned the fish while standing in the water.  He was excited to be missing school for the last day.

The weather made an abrupt change the night we spent there.  So, unless we were returning to the desert, it was time to return home.  It was only a 7 hour trip, and so we made it home to hand out candy.

It was a wonderful trip… Always nice to come home, but looking forward to another one as soon as possible!  We are hoping to head south sometime February 2015, for a few weeks.
