Drove through New Mexico and saw quite a few Route 66 remnants. Especially enjoyed the drive through Tucumcari. The town seems a little forlorn, but you could tell it was hopping when Route 66 went through it. So many old motels and shops. About half are shuttered now, but the ones open were worth seeing. One of the motels, referred to as a courtyard, had a garage that came with your room.

Stopped at this neat curio shop, and then, a short stop at Cadillac Ranch. Mark had never heard of Cadillac Ranch. Not sure if he was impressed, but definitely humored!

Spent the night at Palo Duro Canyon, south of Amarillo. Gorgeous place and will post pictures of it later
