We took a quick trip to Michigan to get our camper repaired.  Palomino said it would be a really fast fix, so we camped about an hour from their location.  The dunes along the southern shore of Lake Michigan have always been intriguing.  So, instead of the heavily used Indiana Dunes, we went to Warren Dunes in Michigan.  The campground wasn’t particularly charming.  The sites were dirt due to the heavy use, and most were wide open.  But it worked out because we were there during a week day, and school is back in session.  The camp store employee said the day before, there were over 200 campers in the park.  We were lucky and only 5 of the campsites were occupied while we were there.  We camped old school with the tent.

Before we traded up to the truck camper, I had started using a cot.  Not quite a mattress, but oh so comfortable.

We were able to find a site with a little grass.

Mark isn’t quite ready to give into his age, still willing to sleep on the ground.
The crowning glory of this park is the dunes and Lake Michigan.

Miles of beaches and dunes.

Even a beach for Sophie, although she had to leave her beer back at camp.

And it did take only a minute to fix the camper, so we are all ready for our trip to LA, leaving on October 10th!!
